Holy Houses
Rotterdam’s churches, mosques, temples and synagogues open their doors for the public. Together with various partners, Rotterdam’s houses of worship organize all kinds of activities under the title ‘Holy Houses‘ during the Rotterdam Architecture Month 2022. Discover the religious buildings of Rotterdam from May 28 untill June 4, 2022.
Visit a church, mosque, synagoge or temple
A medieval village church, a mosque or synagogue in an old school, or a colorful Hindu temple: all religious buildings have a story and tell us something about Rotterdam. Discover more about the history and future of these buildings through the perspective of an architectural lense.
Holy Houses organizes various activities. Think of guided tours, architecture lectures or a game about the reallocation of a church building. But also an exhibition on the reuse of church buildings, a audio performance about Citykerk Het Steiger (by Verhalenhuis Belvédère) and an evening program along different houses of prayer (by OMI Rotterdam).
